General Questions

  • The honest answer is I don’t know. What will happen is that when you remove the diet cycle of restricting, depriving, and bingeing, with practice, patience, and self-compassion, you will find the set weight that is best for your body.

  • My mission is to support as many women as possible to help them UNDiet their lives, and the best way for me to do that is online. As much as I would love to see you in person, I see all my clients online through Zoom. I am now offering in-person retreats! Click here to see all upcoming events.

  • Intuitive Eating is learning about what is best for you. Through this practice, you learn to listen, trust, and respect your body. As you heal your relationship with food and your body and develop respect, you develop the awareness and power to decide how you want to feel. If you have food sensitivities, we create options that you enjoy and remove the restriction and deprivation feelings that often come with food sensitivities.

  • As an Intuitive Eating Health Coach, I do not tell you what to eat or provide meal plans. As a former caterer, I will help you learn how to Mindfully Meal plan and offer hundreds of recipes. My favorite meal planning app is PlanToEat, and you can click here for a free 30-day trial.

Body Peace & Food Freedom Program Questions

  • Body Peace & Food Freedom was developed from my healing journey and professional education. I had been a lifelong dieter since the age of 12, and when I became a health and wellness coach, my goal was to help women just like me and you to lose weight.

For as long as I can remember, dieting and being in a smaller body have been priorities. When I discovered that my dieting was, in reality, disordered eating. I knew then I could no longer morally or ethically help women lose weight, and it became my mission to support women to be happy, healthy, and confident at any size. I believe we all deserve Body Peace & Food Freedom, and the right to UNDiet our lives.

  • Body Peace & Food Freedom is a 6-month program.

  • I encourage all of my participants to show up live with their cameras on to the weekly call to maximize their benefits and build trust, community, and connection with the other participants. I understand life happens, and all calls are recorded.

  • After you have completed Body Peace & Food Freedom, you are invited to Embrace Body Peace & Food Freedom, a monthly program to dive into your relationship with your body and continue with education, support, and community.

Upon completing Body Peace & Food Freedom, you will have the skills to practice Intuitive Eating, Mindful Eating, embrace the concept of Health At Every Size®, show up through the lens of curiosity, and offer yourself compassion. One-on-One coaching is always available.

  • The IRS determines what can be reimbursed by an HSA/FSA. Because health and wellness coaching is an emerging profession, it is not yet specified in the IRS code language, however, the IRS has issued guidance to the NBHWC that out-of-pocket costs of health and wellness coaching services can be a “qualified medical expense” if the services are provided for the treatment or prevention of a disease.

As such, we believe that if an individual is referred to health and wellness coaching by their physician as a treatment for a specific disease that the individual either already has, or has an imminent probability of developing, then the individual’s out-of-pocket costs for such services may qualify as a deductible medical expense.

Given the current IRS language, if a client/ patient (taxpayer) is referred to health and wellness coaching by their physician as a treatment for a medical condition/disease, this would be reimbursable as outlined above.

  • If your client is interested in receiving benefits under their HSA/FSA for HWC, they should consult their physician to discuss their medical treatment and care plan. If the physician decides that they have a condition that warrants the support of a health and wellness coach, they may recommend that course of treatment. In this instance, we recommend a Medical Letter of Necessity be provided to the patient/client for record-keeping and claim submission. We have provided you with an example of the Medical Letter of Necessity for you to see what is required. To receive reimbursement for an HSA/FSA, the patient/client needs to follow the instructions outlined in their plan and contact the plan administrator with questions about submitting claims and receipts.

  • As the plans are administered right now, the IRS language does not allow for someone to choose this intervention or service on their own and receive reimbursement from their HSA/ FSA, however NBHWC believes that health and wellness coaching is an important service that supports individuals in any stage of health so we do encourage your clients/patients to speak with their physician to see if they qualify to receive a signed Letter of Medical Necessity to use their HSA or FSA account.
